We're reliving our wedding day as we count down to our 1st anniversary, and if we go chronologically the next thing that happened after getting ready was our "first look". Originally I was 100% against seeing Trey before walking down the aisle. That's the tradition, right? The groom cannot see the bride. It's what I always thought. Well after much thought and an insightful conversation with my photographer, Masa, I decided we should see each before the ceremony. Masa explained the tradition of the groom not seeing the bride before walking down the aisle is not Biblical and originated with arranged marriages, so the groom couldn't "run away" if he didn't like what he saw beforehand. That put my mind at ease, and honestly I am beyond glad we chose to see each other. We both say seeing each other first calmed our nerves, and we got to spend some precious time alone together right before we said our vows.
Here is our first look on the front porch of the church. It was just us and the photographer.

She captured this moment perfectly. After our "first look" we exchanged wedding presents. Then we took some bride and groom pictures around the church.
